iFoneGuys made an excellent app for creating panoramas on iPhone.

Stitching looks seamless so it is very easy to get expected result within minutes. That’s what iPhone apps should really be – easy to use and as foolproof as possible. It took me a few minutes to create this panorama:

Given the effort I think the result is quite impressive. You can also “easily” (provided you find appropriate tools) drop this into VRML:
