I've just received an email from DreamHost (which hosts some of my domains) saying that they have moved my account to a new server.

No one who ever tried it really knows what can go wrong during server migrations, so I tried checking some of my sites only to be welcomed with "Application error symfony application failed to start properly". A quick check of php/pear versions went OK and a look into the .htaccess file revealed "AddHandler phpFive .php, Action phpFive /cgi-bin/php.cgi".

Simply removing those lines from .htaccess made everything work just fine.

If you need to install symfony application on DreamHost I recommend Chatteren's guide.
